Vysya Pelli is the youth wing's jadhagam (matrimony) service — a free, community-only way for Arya Vysya families to find alliances, on the web at pelli.yw.tnvysya.com and in the Vysya Pelli app.
A jadhagam profile is the most personal thing the platform holds. This page sets out exactly what happens to it, who sees it, and how to take it back. Please read it before posting a profile. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use; where they differ on jadhagam data, this page governs.
1. Who can use Vysya Pelli
- Only approved eCensus members can post a profile or browse profiles. Registering in the eCensus is free.
- A profile may be posted by the person themselves or by a parent, sibling or close relative — but the person the profile describes must know about it and agree to it (see section 4).
- The person must have attained the legal age of marriage in India — 21 for men, 18 for women.
2. What a profile contains
- Identity — photographs, name, bride or groom, date, time and place of birth.
- Physical details — height, weight, complexion, body type, blood group, marital status, physical status.
- Remarriage details — only if you are divorced, widowed, your marriage was annulled or you are awaiting divorce: the year the previous marriage ended and how it ended (by mutual consent or contested), children (how many, and who they live with), which marriage this will be, and an optional short "about my situation" note. They are used only for matchmaking and shown to other members as you choose; the year is hidden unless you choose to show it. We never ask for the reason for a divorce, the cause of a spouse's death, any details of your former spouse, or your children's names, photographs or dates of birth.
- Astrological details — rasi and navamsam chart, rasi, nakshatram, padham, lagnam, dosham and its details, dasa balance, gothram and kula deivam.
- Education and work — qualification, occupation, employer, work location and annual income (you choose who may see it).
- Family — father's name (from your eCensus record), father's and mother's occupations, brothers and sisters (and how many are married), family type, status and values, native place and the town where the family lives.
- Contact — contact person, relation, mobile and alternate mobile, and the best time to call.
- Preferences — partner expectations, in your own words.
Fields marked required must be filled for a profile to be useful for matching. Everything else is optional — leave out anything you would rather not share, including income and photographs.
3. How a profile is approved and shown
- You post the profile from your account or the app.
- The Jadhagam team reviews it to confirm it is linked to a genuine eCensus member and is complete and appropriate. Only then does it become visible.
- Approved profiles are shown only to other signed-in, approved members — never on public pages and never to search engines.
- Profiles from the same gothram are hidden from each other, in keeping with community custom.
- Porutham (star and rasi compatibility) is shown as guidance only; families should consult their own astrologer before deciding.
- Contact details are released only when you accept an interest sent by another family. Until then, nobody sees your phone number, email or address.
- A profile stays active for its validity period (currently 180 days) and can be renewed.
Marital status documents. If you are divorced, widowed or your marriage was annulled, the divorce or annulment decree, or the death certificate, that you upload is used only to confirm that you are legally free to marry. It is viewed only by the Jadhagam team, and it is deleted as soon as the team has made its decision, and no later than 30 days after upload. We keep only a "verified" mark: the type of document, the date it was verified and who verified it.
Awaiting divorce. If your divorce is not yet final, we store your declaration and the date you made it, and your profile is always labelled "Awaiting divorce".
Drafts. The Jadhagam team may open a draft profile, including its photographs and charts, only to help you complete it. Every such view is logged.
Marital status corrections. If the eCensus team corrects your marital status, the change is recorded with the staff member's name and the reason, and you are notified.
4. The consent you give
When you post a profile, you agree that TNAVMSYW may show its details to approved members seeking an alliance, and release your contact details to the families whose interest you accept. The consent covers matrimonial matching and nothing else — we will not use your profile for any other purpose.
By posting a profile for someone else, you confirm you have that person's informed consent and that they are of legal marriageable age. If we learn a profile was posted without the person's consent, we will remove it immediately.
5. Understand the limits
Once your details reach another family — for example after you accept their interest — they hold a copy. We cannot recall it, and we cannot prevent them from forwarding it. Share only what you are willing to have seen within the community.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell profiles, contact numbers or any part of this data. Ever.
- We do not share profiles with commercial matrimonial websites, marriage brokers or agencies.
- We do not use jadhagam data for advertising or for any commercial purpose.
- We do not charge for matching, and no office bearer may charge for it.
7. We do not verify profile details
Approval confirms that a profile belongs to a registered member. It does not verify horoscopes, education, income, employment, family background, marital status, health or photographs. A "verified" mark on marital status means only that the Jadhagam team has seen a document showing the person is legally free to marry.
Before proceeding with any alliance, satisfy yourself independently: meet the family, see original certificates and identity documents, verify employment, and take whatever other steps you would normally take. Please read the Disclaimer in full.
8. Reporting, blocking and safety
Every profile and every message can be reported. You can block a member so they no longer see your profile or contact you. The Jadhagam team reviews reports promptly and may suspend profiles or accounts that misuse the service.
9. Withdrawing, pausing or correcting your profile
You can do any of these at any time, without giving a reason, from your account or the app — or by writing to [email protected] from your registered email:
- Withdraw — the profile stops being shown and is deleted from our records.
- Pause — the profile is hidden but kept, for example while a discussion is in progress.
- Correct — update any detail that has changed or was entered wrongly (changes may be re-reviewed).
Please tell us when a marriage is fixed so we can mark the profile as settled — and, if you are willing, share your story with the community.
10. If something goes wrong
If your details have been misused, if someone has contacted you inappropriately, or if a profile about you was posted without your consent, tell us at once:
Jadhagam — grievance channel Email: [email protected] — mark the subject line "Jadhagam — urgent" and we will prioritise it.
Serious misuse — harassment, fraud or dowry demands — should also be reported to the police. TNAVMSYW will cooperate fully with any lawful investigation.
